Resume preparation
Your resume is the most important tool in matching your skills and interests with the right job.
Your resume should clearly outline your personal details, including contact number and email address, if available.
A standard resume should catalogue previous employment chronologically, with a brief description of your responsibilities in each position, the length of time in each position, software/programs used, and a summary of your skills and abilities.
You should include information on any recent education, courses or training, and provide at least three work related referees and their contact numbers.
Our trained consultants can offer resume advice to help you highlight your skills in the best way possible.
The initial interview
Prior to your first meeting you will need to send us a copy of your resume via email. For the interview, please bring along a hardcopy of your resume as well as proof of relevant qualifications and courses.
Priority Appointments offer a relaxed interview process, with consultants on hand to discuss your career history, employment preferences and salary expectations. If you have applied for a specific position, our consultants will brief you on what the role involves and the application process requested by the client.
Our consultants work tirelessly to actively introduce you to the right job in the right organisation, and can continue to assist in managing your career if requested.
For some positions you may be requested to undertake a variety of skill assessment tests, including software packages, typing speed and accuracy tests, and if applicable psychometric (personality/cognitive ability) testing.
Follow up
Once you have registered with Priority Appointments it is vital that you remain in contact with us. Please let us know if your circumstances or contact details change, so that we can keep our databases up-to-date.
If you have applied in response to a specific job, our consultants will inform you of the steps involved in the application process and the expected timeframe for placement.
